If you're reading this, you've agreed to a few simple things. The text, images, and design of this site belong to us unless attributed otherwise. You can quote short passages with credit, but please don't republish the catalogue, product photos, or written content wholesale. We list prices in good faith and they're current as of publication, but anything we list — prices, availability, hours, lead times — can change. We reserve the right to turn down a booking or order, with a full refund. We stand behind what we make: if something arrives damaged, isn't what you ordered, or doesn't meet the description, tell us and we'll repair, replace, or refund without argument. None of this affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
Usually a reply within a working day.
Anything we keep about you is yours to access, edit, port, or remove. Just email us and we'll act on the request within thirty days at no cost. That includes asking for a copy in CSV or JSON, restricting how we process specific records, withdrawing consent for communications, and erasing your records entirely (subject to any legal requirement to retain order data for accounting purposes). Concerns about how we handle your data can also be escalated to the data-protection authority in your jurisdiction. Email hello@cedarcovepath.com.
We hold very little of each model. A shoe listed here may be gone by the time you arrive, and we cannot always reorder — small makers produce in runs, not continuously. Call ahead if you are travelling for something specific.
If a shoe does not suit your foot we will say so, even when we have it in your size. That is what an honest fitting means, and it occasionally means we do not make a sale.
We stock footwear that can be resoled and rebuilt. That is a design property, not a guarantee of lifespan. How long a pair lasts depends on how you wear it, the surfaces you walk on, and whether you rotate pairs. We will give you an honest estimate on request.
Unworn shoes can be returned within fourteen days. Shoes worn outdoors cannot — the sole tells us immediately. Try them indoors for as long as you like before committing.
Japanese law governs these terms; the Kyoto District Court is the court of first instance.
Resoling is done by a workshop we have used for years, not in the shop. Turnaround is usually three to four weeks and we will not promise faster, because the workshop sets the queue, not us.
If the stock policy or the repair service changes, these terms are updated at the same time. The revised text and its effective date appear on this page; continuing to use the site after that date means you accept them.
If part of this fails legally, the rest survives. We are not trying to sign away rights you have as a consumer under Japanese law, and any clause that reads that way should not be read that way.
Reach us about these terms by email or in the shop. Cedar Cove Path, 〒606-8175 Kyoto, Kyoto City, Sakyo Ward, Ichijoji Tsukudacho, 68. Telephone +81 75-701-0065, email hello@cedarcovepath.com. Last revised 27 July 2026.
Ordering a size we do not stock means waiting for the maker's next run, which can be weeks or months. We take no deposit and you are free to change your mind while you wait — we will simply put the pair on the shelf.
If a maker discontinues a model mid-order, we will tell you as soon as we know and suggest the nearest alternative rather than substituting without asking.
