Personal information on this site is whatever you send us when you write in — usually just a name and an email, sometimes a phone or shipping address if you're placing an order. We keep it private and we keep it minimal. We never share it with advertising networks, social platforms, analytics services, or data brokers. Internally only people who need to see it to answer your message can access it. We hold inquiry data for about a year and order data for the legal accounting period (six years in most jurisdictions). You're entitled to ask us what we have, get it in a portable format, correct it, or have it deleted; just email and we'll act within thirty days. If you ever have a concern about how we've handled your information, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
The only cookies here are the ones that keep the site working — remembering that you dismissed the banner, mostly. Nothing follows you to another site, and nothing builds a profile of what you looked at.
Anything we keep about you is yours to access, edit, port, or remove. Just email us and we'll act on the request within thirty days at no cost. That includes asking for a copy in CSV or JSON, restricting how we process specific records, withdrawing consent for communications, and erasing your records entirely (subject to any legal requirement to retain order data for accounting purposes). An honest fitting means measuring both feet — length, width, arch height — and asking about pain, prior injuries, and how you actually walk or run. That is information about your body, and we treat it that way. It is written on a card kept behind the counter, not in a marketing database.
Stock here is small and turns over. When something arrives that suits a foot we have measured before, we can tell you. That is the only reason the card exists. Ask us to bin it and we will, in front of you.
Ordering a size we do not carry, or sending a pair out for resoling, means giving your name, contact details, and address to us — and the address to the courier. Nothing else leaves the shop.
This site does not run advertising trackers or retargeting pixels. We use a simple page counter to see which shoes people read about. It does not identify you.
Fitting cards are kept for three years from your last visit. Order and repair records follow the statutory bookkeeping period. Email hello@cedarcovepath.com to see or delete anything.
We fit children, but the card is made in the parent's name and the parent is who we contact. We do not keep a record in a child's own name.

If a fitting went badly or a repair came back wrong, bring it in — we would rather fix it than have you quietly stop coming. Otherwise write to the address above and you will get a reply within two weeks. You may also raise a matter with the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan.
